"He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord."
I've been mulling over this verse most of the week. It seems that many articles and conversations I've read and had have focused on marriage, people's desires for it and what to do with disappointment when it hasn't happened.
It breaks my heart to talk to friends and family who really, really desire marriage but have no prospects in sight. I told one person this week that I would specifically be praying for him to find a wife. It would be a very good thing for him and fulfill one of his lifelong dreams.
Which brings me to today's challenge for the wives reading this: Are you something good in your husband's life? Do you portray the Lord's favor, or are you more like this proverbial wife:
"A quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping on a rainy day." -Proverbs 27:15
Ouch. Nothing like preaching to yourself!
Many people desire marriage....good marriages. People root for and admire others who have good, healthy marital relationships...who show that finding a wife is a good thing. As wives, lets make that true in our relationships. Let's pray for our husbands. Let's make them a priority in our lives. Let's rejoice in how they love us now and how they have loved us in the past. Let's celebrate the favor the Lord has bestowed on us in marriage. People are watching and desiring such a "good thing" in their lives. Be a good example.
