"Words are the voice of the heart."
-Confucius

I used to have a blog on Word Press many moons ago.  It has since been deleted...mostly because of a lack of purpose, but in the midst of all that, life happened:  I graduated from college, got married, bought a house, had a baby.  In the midst of all this action, I began to realize how much I missed writing.  In high school and college I always found satisfaction in expressing my thoughts in writing.  I might as well confess now: I have a hope chest filled with old journals and diaries from grade school on (many unfinished because I would find a new, "cooler" journal and start writing all over again!)

But now, journaling is not enough.  I feel compelled again to blog, this time with purpose.  I have named this blog "A Reader's Rumination" because I want to share my thoughts about the many things I read.  As a stay at home mom to a 6 month old, I have limited time to pursue the art of reading, but I find my heart coming alive as I make time for the written word.  I want to share my reflections with my friends, family and the internet community so I can facilitate discussion, document my growth and change as a reader and grow in the art of writing.  Most of the blog posts will start with a quote (see above) and I plan on reflecting on said quote, whether it be a story from my own life, a link to another website, a photo or just a rant.  I'm planning on posting my reflections at least twice a week.  I hope and pray that they are inspiring, thought provoking and bring about the personal growth that I desire from this exercise.  I hope that my words truly are the voice of my heart.
